What are you going to do?
As our new Web Developer (Smart TV), you and your team will be responsible for building web apps used on Smart TVs, including Roku devices. You will work on one to two projects simultaneously, ensuring that the apps run smoothly on various Smart TV models, including Roku devices. You will collaborate closely with the team to improve the platform and contribute to the whole Media platform.
There are many different models of TVs and streaming devices in circulation, and ensuring compatibility and user-friendliness across these platforms will be one of your key challenges. You will work extensively with video players, streaming media, DRM, and Roku-specific development frameworks and tools. Testing the app on devices will be an essential part of your workflow, alongside the wall of Smart TVs in the office.
In addition to your project team, you will be part of the Frontend Web Team, actively participating in Techtalk sessions to share knowledge and discuss relevant topics with your colleagues. A dedicated Slack channel will also serve as a communication and knowledge-sharing platform.
Who are we looking for?
In addition to the qualifications and qualities mentioned in the original vacancy, we seek candidates with expertise in either frontend web development, Smart TV development or Roku Development. Don’t worry if
you have no experience yet in Smart TV or Roku development; we still would like to contact you.
- Bachelor level of education and thinking.
- Relevant work experience as a (mid-level) web developer.
- Unit Testing and Streaming Media/DRM (web-video) experience is a plus.
- Experience with ES6/ES.Next.
- Experience with a front-end framework.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
